2. In good news my mom escaped the farm, where she was out of power, to come and play with us yesterday. The boys got to show off all of their new toys they got from Santa and they were distracted long enough so I could get mostly packed for our upcoming trip. Not sure Grandma has her full, two crazy boys, energy back, so they did get to show her some new things on their tablet as well.
3. Rowan is such a big boy and is thoroughly enjoying the magnetic building blocks that were also part of the prize I won. Apparently they have these at the childcare at the gym and they love them, who knew.
4. Sunday we did make our way down the road, through the ice and sleet, to Abbey's house to go to the Christmas Tea. This year's tea which much smaller than expected, but the people who lived close came and I thought it was the perfect size. Maggie's two little friends from school came which I think really made her day. Their mom's were lovely people too and got to be introduced to the famous Christmas Tea magic mushrooms!! Rowan brought his best buddy Verny along as well.
The Dotter Family cheese ball was made into a snowman for the occasion.
Verny's first Christmas tea.
Crowns for my kings
5. We were really hoping in all this wintery mess we might get some snow to play in, however it's all been sleet and ice, which is no fun. So yesterday we decided to make snowmen inside, with playdoh! Just as cute, much warmer, but much messier. The boys thought this was hysterical, not sure why, but I thought it was very cute!!
Update on this little guys stiches. They fell out the day after they were placed, which is NOT supposed to happen. Rowan has been great about keeping his snoopy bandaid on his face though and his wound seems to be healing nicely.
6. We are headed to Southeast MO for the Korenak Christmas on Thursday. I worked today and work again tomorrow so we had to get all of our packing and preparations done Monday. I hear it's freezing there as well, but I am trying to pretending it's a sunny and warm. Puerto Rico is looking great right now. February can't come fast enough.
7. I woke up the day after Christmas with the terrible sinus pain that can only mean one thing in my world. It's what happens a day or two after I get a cold or my allergies start flair up, or I loose a little sleep. It always ends with a course of antibiotics and usually steroids. However, on Saturday I could not face being sick for another month and I really didn't want to go to urgent care, during an ice storm, and spend a hundred bucks on medical care. So I did some research into natural remedies for sinus infections. Turns out putting a few drops of tea tree oil in boiling water and inhaling the steam, along with drinking apple cider vinegar with honey and lemon juice, cleared my sinuses right up. I have been doing both in the morning and evening for three days now and feel like I have a normal little cold, but don't want to kill myself and it hasn't moved to my chest with a horrible cough. This is HUGE in my life!!!! Hope it continues to work!!!
8. Rowan sported numerous adorable stocking caps yesterday, both inside and out. When Rowan is in a stocking cap his little face looks even more like his Daddy's than usual. It's so stinking cute!!
Elmo hat
And the fan favorite, Okeen Whippets hat.
10. Off to inhale my tea tree oil and try to relax before work again tomorrow.
9. I need to get to the gym, I am missing
it. Between sick kids, the holidays, being out of town, and all the
crazy weather I haven't gotten to go much and I definitely am missing
it. That is a good sign, but also always hard to get back on the wagon.
