A Year in Pictures: 2015

 As is my tradition I wanted to recap 2015 with some of my favorite pictures from each month. Sometimes I try to limit it to one or two pictures a month, but it's been such a lovely year I decided that was silly and am just putting all my favorites in the line up this year!

January 2015

First family photo of 2015.

Little Ro baby, started the year as a one year old, hard to believe because he is so very much a three year old now.

Zane rocking his scar. This year I got much more involved and aware of many more opportunities for support as a heart mom. Zane continues to love his scar and was thrilled to be entered into the Rock My Scar photo contest.

This perfectly sums up how my year began, starting training for the marathon relay we were running in April. I battle through a couple various injuries but am very proud to say I end this year much stronger and in much better shape than when I started. Thanks to my siblings for helping push me into a healthier lifestyle.

February 2015

 My little nature lover, Zane, became much more of scientist this year. At the start of the year we began watching birds from outside of our front window. Zane began "taking notes" on them.

 Rowan started the year still quite the baby, that sadly is no more. He isn't much bigger in size but definitely gotten much older and more independent this year.

 Zane at 4.5 years old, still with the slightest bit of baby in that face, sadly that is no more. He is much bigger in size and a lot has changed in his personality this year as well.

 These two have grown much closer over this year and have learned to play together smashingly. I am not sure what Rowan will do next year when Zane goes to school, that will be quite a difficult adjustment for everyone I'm sure.

Last but not least, Rowan turned two in February with his Woof Woof birthday party. Two was quite a handful, but definitely not terrible. We're rounding the corner into three now, which seems like it could be a bit more challenging.

March 2015

I have a house full of super heros!

The first step to becoming a t-ball player was getting a helmet. Zane loved it and it might be the only piece of baseball equipment or clothing that we haven't had to replace. I sure hope it still fits in the spring.

 Little Rowan's first trip on the hay bales! This is a big milestone in a little farm boys life.

Baseball became a big part of our life this year, in the spring and into the fall. Zane learned a lot, played on two different teams, went through two different last names on his jersey, and I think he really enjoyed it.

My favorite part of all the baseball games and nights at the baseball field was Rowan's reaction when he finally was reunited with his big brother.

April 2015

 This picture captures Rowan's personality laid back and somewhat lazy. He does love to max and relax.

 This is my favorite family photo of the year I think. I love the beautiful red bud backdrop. We had another beautiful Easter at the farm this year.

 And this picture captures Zane's personality perfectly, I think this was mid jump and scream. Zane remains my wild man and rubs his crazy energy off on his brother all the time. I love it!

 The Korenak Family after Zach's leg of the Marathon Relay. I love that we did this as a family and that Zach ran a leg, even though he was less than thrilled about it.

May 2015

Silly Ro baby!

 Favorite picture from all our baseball fun.

 Zane at my Willie Wonka Birthday party, sporting Uncle Able's top hat.

2015 was truly the year of the snakes. We went on multiple snake hunts, saw all kinds of different snakes, read snake books, made snake crafts. I am all snaked out after this year.

June 2015

Fun fact June, October, and December are always the months that I take the most pictures.

 We went to see Charolette's web at the Myriad Gardens twice in June.

 The first appearance of Rowan's bigger boy face.

 We spent lots of time in the pool in our back yard during June.

E's Batman birthday at the zoo produced lots of adorable pictures, but this is my favorite.

 And then he was five. It's truly unbelievable that my sweet baby is five and oh so big.

Zane's birthday brought our fist experiences with bicycles. Zane got a big boy bike with training wheels and Rowan got a little tricycle to ride with him.

July 2015

 There were quite a few first in July. First time in the lake for Rowan and first time to catch a fish for both of them.

 Possibly my favorite picture of the entire year!

 First time to make it through an entire fireworks show. Rowan did this successfully, twice.

First ride on a Ferris Wheel, of course my dare devil son loved it.

August 2015

 The Richard's moved to a new home, in a neighborhood with a pool, which meant we got to have swim dates quite often. Rowan ended the summer with a very nice tan.

 Zach and I on our 9th wedding anniversary. Oh the things we've been through and still love each other. What a blessing.

 Zane's first turtle race experience at Ames Days was quite the experience.

 I love this picture of my blonde haired, blue eyed boy, even if he is about to be stepped on my a Wooly Mammoth.

 Rowan loves his tricycle and his little helmet.

We had a wonderful surprise of renewing our wedding vows just a few weeks after our anniversary.

September 2015

 For some reason these boys never have a shirt on.

 In September Zane became a Lake Monster and Rowan became his biggest fan.

November 2015

 Zane started Sunday school this year and has loved it. He has learned lots of prayers and has become quite the little religious boy. I was very proud of my little St. Francis.

 One of my biggest goals for this year was cherishing every single day I have left with these two boys at home. I think I did a pretty good job. We had lots of fun and lots of adventures.

 We can't forget our first power outage since moving back to Oklahoma.

 Since I bought this Snoopy costume for Rowan, on clearance after Halloween, he has worn it for some party of every, single day. It was easily the best ten dollars I ever spent. And he makes such an adorable Snoopy.

December 2015

 All things Star Wars have been a huge part of this month.

 We had a wonderful, unexpected family vacation.

 This was the beginning of Rowan's Verny obsession which has been a huge part of this month.

 First set of facial stitches, sure to not be the last.

 Christmas 2015 was a huge success!

 This face is so much different than even a month ago and not just because of the Snoopy band aid. He is growing up too quickly.

This year was a great year. No major tragedies occurred and no crazy life events. I was neither pregnant nor just having had a baby. My work schedule became much more tolerable this year with my move to the flex pool, which also allowed me to cut back on how much I worked for most of the year. Zach had a few months of an insane work load, but we managed it, and he has been greatly rewarded for all his hard work. We got to do lost of fun things, some very unexpected, and both boys were pretty well pulled together. No potty training disasters, no moves to new schools, or new houses. We tried to stay settled and enjoy a much calmer, more grounded year than the previous one. Something tells me 2016 may not be so calm and grounded. I see huge life chances on the horizon for both boys and hence our family as a whole. I promise I am not pregnant, but there are things like Kindergarten, everyday life without big brother, and potty training in our near future. So I'm bracing myself for the changes that lie ahead, but also counting my blessing and ranking 2015 as one of the best for the Korenak Family.
