Ten on Tuesday

1. I worked my first weekend since before Christmas this weekend and did NOT enjoy it. I missed all the fun while taking care of very very depressing cases. Also my house falls apart, I get behind with everything, and before I know it I'm back at work and missing my children like terrible. Zane had Sunday school, baseball practice, and a birthday party on Sunday sure wish I could have gone to those, but I hear he had a blast with it all.

2. It's been rainy/gloomy around here for the past couple days so we have spent a lot of time building with all sorts of things. Zane only gets excited about building if we set a goal to use every single piece of whatever we are building with. Yesterday it was the castle blocks from last Christmas. We made quite the castle, complete with a caged dragon in front of it (added after this picture).

 3. I finally accepted the fact that Zane needs new pants, even if he will only be wearing them for another month of so. All the pants he has now can't button (a problem I am very familiar with and know how uncomfortable it is). So we got new, much bigger pants, new boxers (because he is a man), and as an added bonus we found a MIZZOU jersey on the clearance rack. It did hurt my soul a little bit when he put the Tiger shirt over the Sooner jersey he was wearing, but it's not everyday you find a Tiger shirt in OK so we had to get it.
 4. This week marked a big mommy moment for me when I retired my diaper bag. I currently don't have anyone in diapers and rarely need to have a change of clothes with me. So after almost six years I am carrying a purse again, but I still have underwear, snacks, and toys in it, so not sure there is much of a difference.Oh and I also have a work bag, a gym bag, and a smaller purse when I am not with my kids. Possibly it was pointless now that I think about it.
 5. Zane reminded me on Monday that we needed to decorate for Easker, as he calls it. Zane and I decorated while Rowan slept. Zane used his grasper to put everything where it belongs and learned how to spell Easter in the process. Oh the joys of being a boy mom.

6. Swimming lessons continue, though I did find out we are getting jipped a week of lessons during spring break next week. Zane can swim pretty well, by himself, about half way across the pool. There were only three kids at class last night so Zane had lots of chances to swim. He loves it and his new shark swim suit/flip flops!!

7. As I started going through Zane clothes, taking out lots that are too small, I thought I should do the same for Rowan. Turns out Rowan never gets any bigger which makes the changing of seasons/cloths so much easier. I did look at the box of 3T and 4T clothes and cannot imagine a time when Rowan will be that big. Zane was wearing 4T at two, so crazy.

8. This afternoon we went to play with the Richards and the neighbor boy found the first snake of the season. Zane was excited and has high hopes for a snake hunt at Grandma's this weekend. "Mamma, it's warming up, that means the snakes are coming out!!!!!" The beginning of snake season.

Yes, Zane was dressed as Harry Potter!

9. While we were over there I did my Godmotherly duty and helped B make his first communion banner. I had to freehand some decent looking wheat, to carry on the Blakley heritage of wheat on First Communion banners. I think it turned out pretty amazing and very proud of my amazing God son!

10. I love the new arrangement of our living room. The boys spend lots of time in front of the window building things, playing with trucks, and today Marty and Mary even showed up to visit. The weather has been beautiful all week, which also means that we have been able to have the windows up! Lovely!!
