Rowan's Sixth Birthday Week: A Year in Pictures

February 2018

I miss having Rowan at home with me. He was so sweet and cuddly and just spark of happiness I needed by my side last year.
Fifth birthday Lego Party!

March 2018

This year Rowan has really begun to love board games.

Little scientist

Back to t-ball this spring, sadly he missed the fall season with a broken arm.

As hard as Zane's year was last year, Rowan's was just as hard. He was scared and didn't even know why or what was going to happen, or what he should do, or how it was going to affect him. Through it all Rowan tried to keep me happy and was there being the best brother to Zane I could ever ask for.
First baseball tournament medal. He was so proud of himself.
During the spring campout Rowan got to wear his Lion shirt for the first time. He was so excited to finally get to be a part of Cub Scouts with big brother.

 Last day of pre-k!
The picture below was from the morning of pre-op day, poor Rowan was terrified. The morning of surgery Zane made sure to go give Rowan hugs and kisses before we left. As a parent it was so hard leaving on child, who I knew was scared and sad, to go be with the other child who was sick and needed me more. It was like having my heart torn into pieces.

Thank you to everyone who parented and loved on this kiddo when I couldn't be there. Thank you for keeping him entertained and dealing with all his emotions while Zach and I were gone.
Rowan was a great post op companion, helping Zane every step of the way.
Rowan's style never ceases to entertain me.

Our little baseball boy had a great season. Sadly, I missed most of it, but he had a great time.

Sometimes Rowan requests a buzz cut and it cracks me up every time I see pictures of him with one. Silly boy!

July 2018

Rowan was thrilled to finally have Zane back in his room with him.

We survived ten weeks of sternal precautions!

August 2018

Rowan remains my little snuggle bug. I adore that he still fits in my lap ad wants to cuddle.

September 2018

His baseball team got third place over all and I've never see someone be so proud of their little trophy.

 Brotherly silliness
Then began our broken arm debacle. He was such a trooper through it all.

 January 2019

As Thatcher gets bigger his attacks on Rowan have become more frequent. Rowan, for the most part tolerated this well. I do occasionally have to remind him that he is older and can just get up or take whatever thing Thatcher might be wanting to throw at him.

This year I have loved watching Rowan with baby Worth. He is such a good baby cuddler and big cousin.
Rowan has loved being a Cub Scout this year. This was at his first Pinewood Derby Race.
Rowan sadly is still the one who is usually crying and usually the one who is hurt. It's a good day if we can get through it without Rowan bleeding.

Accidentally matching with Thatcher, what could be more cute.

I am always covered in boys.
