Thanksgiving 2013

I never got around to blogging Thanksgiving, what with the excitement of Gary's arrival and all. So here is a quick summary of the highlights. It was a wonderfully relaxing day at Abbey's house. We drove down in the morning and since our meal wasn't until the evening, we had all day to play, craft, cook, and rest. It was actually pretty nice to not feel terrible from eating too much all day, just the last couple hours.

The crafts projects included pine cone turkeys, which were later used on the table decor, Indian head dresses, for the Indian princesses and princes in the group,  and cinnamon tree art. Maggie and I did most of the crafting since the boys were busy rough playing outside, mainly on Uncle Zach/Daddy.

 My little Indian Prince!

Thank God it was nice outside so everyone could run, play, and get all their fighting done outside.

Dinner of course was delicious, as was desert, of which I ate way too much! The day ended, per usual, with everyone moaning, having trouble breathing, and needing to be horizontal so as not to through up. That state mixed with Zane's love of jumping on people almost resulted in people throwing up, but I think everyone made it out ok. Zach, the boys, and I headed to Able's to sleep while Able and Kari took turns manning the Spice Kiosk in the mall all night long, crazy!

Little Rowan had a wonderful first Thanksgiving, though he did end the day with some cinnamon glued to his little figures after helping Maggie with here cinnamon tree. He was a huge fan of cherry pie, which was lots of messy fun. He wore adorable little pants with a turkey on the bottom, which was the cutest thing ever, and spent all day crawling around, trying to be part of the fun, and definitely not sleeping! The take home lesson from Thanksgiving 2013 was; until the kids table becomes an actual table, don't tell the kids they can eat on placements they made at school, because they won't all fit on the table, and it will end violently, hence the placements taped to the wall in the background of the Ro's pie eating photo.

Blakley Grandchildren's kids table, tons of fun!
Nothing like cherry pie!

I can't believe that Ro will soon be celebrating his first Christmas and then it will almost be time for his birthday. Time keeps flying by! Many Thanks to the Richards Family for hosting all of us, cooking such a tasty meal, and cleaning up all of our mess! Love you!
