There has been lots of Christmas fun this week so in no particular order he's the over view of our fun.
1. Last night was the Guernsey family Christmas party. I was working so missed the first thirty minutes of snow tubing, but made it in time to meet Santa. Zane came with a list of his requests and Rowan asked for cowboy boots. Neither one was the least bit scared and both chatted this very jolly Santa up for quite awhile.
There was more snow tubing before we left so I could see Rowan go take a turn at it. Zane had done this before when he was four, but this was Rowan's first year tubing. He did great and hauled his little tube around afterwards as well.
2. On Sunday night, just in time for Christmas photos, Zane lost his second front tooth. And by loose I mean he pulled it out again, probably way before it need to come out. These means he can sing, quite truthfully, All I Want for Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth. And his smile is pretty entertaining now as well.
It also meant that Gary and the Tooth Fairy got to hang out. I think this meeting of two such magical being might mess with the space time continuum. I guess we shall see. We woke to Gary sleeping on the tooth fairy pillow, so it must have been quite the night.
4. Saturday evening was the Guernsey grown up party which left a little to be desired, but was a good time none the less. There was dinner and a booze cruise on the, not scenic AT ALL, Oklahoma river. We could barely see the OKC sky line (aka Devon Tour) and that was about it. But a good time was had by all.
5. This picture of Rowan sums up his life at the moment. He spends quite a bit of time each day playing with his Advent Calendar. This year he got the farm calendar and we have gotten out last years woodland creature calendar for added fun. He really likes to lay in front of the backdoor to play with it, which leads to lots of carrying around of tons of little pieces. I'm so glad my twenty dollar investment is bringing him so much joy this year.
6. Here are the pics from our candy cane hunt. Gary always sets it up for us and the boys always have a blast with it. I'm not sure why they had to loose their minds after, but such is life.
7. Everyone in our family is anxiously awaiting baby Alice's entrance into the world. Her mom and dad are putting the finishing touches on the house, getting it ready for her arrival. We went over Friday evening so Zach could help with a few electrical things. Kari and I took a cousins picture of the two new Blakley grandkids. Somehow I look much more pregnant than Kari who is about to pop and I'm still have months left, but such is the story of the third pregnancy I guess. Can't wait for these two little nuggets to be best buddies.
8. With all my doctor's appointments Zane and I have had a few days where we have some time to ourselves in the morning before school. We drop Rowan off first then usually get a donut or some chocolate milk to enjoy while we wait for the doors of his school to open. This week we took silly selfies while we waited. He's such a fun kid and is loving school!
9. Thursday night Zach worked late so the boys and I made Christmas crafts anf hot chocolate, then bundled up to go look at Christmas lights in our jammies. We went through various neighborhoods by our house and listened to Christmas songs. It was good, simple fun!
Rowan was less excited and really was missing his Bobo that morning.
I loved watching Zane with his classmates. He is friends with literally everyone and made sure he went and played/talked to everyone. He is friends with kids from all the different classes and all the teachers. There were multiple kids who thought they were Zane's best friend and thought that Zane should play with them the whole time. This is what I would have done as a child, stuck with my best friend, having a good time. But Zane worked the room, talked to everyone, gave out hugs to teachers, parents, siblings he had met at some point, everyone. He chatted with his buddy Ethan, and his parents, while we ate, but once he was done he worked the room. I was in awe of his little personality and got lots of compliments from parents and teachers about our happy, friendly guy. Where did he get that confidence. I pray he never changes.
