Sunday afternoon Zach and Zane went to see the new Star Wars while Rowan partied at Aunt Abbey house. Both had a great time and I was so proud to hear that Rowan was such a big boy at the party. He didn't cry or complain, just worked the party, talking and playing with the kids, and hanging out with Aut Kari and Uncle Able. Abbey's neighbor has a big sleigh in their front yard which was perfect for pictures.
We did lots of holiday baking last week, including some actual ginger bread men. If you look really closely at the bottom, white, ginger bread man he has a Harry Potter scar, left over from Zane's birthday party. Our neighbors, mail lady, and the ladies in the office at school all got cookies. All the other teachers got spice gift sets for Christmas, of course!
Gar Bear is still hanging around doing lots of silly shenanigans. This morning he brought the boys their yearly, matching, Christmas pajamas. He also made a Christmas tree out of Hershey Kisses, built an elaborate train track using every train we own, and lined up all Rowan's Hotwheels in a line stretching the entire playroom.
Zane's last day of school before Christmas break was Friday, which meant it was pajama day and class party day. I decided to give Zane an early Christmas present, of his new penguin pjs, so he could wear them to school. He, by far, had the cutest pajamas in the class. Rowan and I joined him for his class party which involved pin the nose on Rudolph, which all the children cheating on, and lots of Christmas goodies. Zane once again was the life of the party and was sad to say good bye to all his buddies when we left.
Zach was out of town on Wednesday evening so we went on an evening adventure with Grandma to see the lights in Kingfisher. We even road the train under a full moon. It was freezing cold outside, but very festive!
Now we are on Christmas break which means that we are in full Christmas mode. Zane things we should be doing arts and crafts all day everyday. I can't quite keep up with the his Christmas wishes, to the point that he told me a few days ago that the baby just didn't have enough Christmas spirit, and it was probably my fault. "It just takes a tiny drop of Christmas spirit mom and then he'll feel better!" I think my lack of energy isn't attributed to the baby this time, but is due to my yearly Christmas cold/cough. I cannot remember the last Christmas when I didn't have this lovely illness. It's so frustrating, but I'm fighting the good fight trying to ward off antibiotics.
Here is a rundown of all our crafts and ornaments from this year.
This is my one and only wreath I've made this holiday season. I have made two of them, one for Abbey and one for my cousin that I need to get sent out. It's a snow theme so it can stay up through January!
So we are really just hanging out around the house, wearing Santa hats, doing crafts, waiting for the big day. I do have to work tomorrow, which means the boys get to hang out with Grandma all day. Hopefully she can come up with some new crafts for them to do!
