Birthday Week: Zane and Daddy

In honor of Father's Day today's birthday week post will be all about Zane and his daddy. Truth be told Zane is quite the mamma's boy. I know I made him this way and for the most part I love this about him. If he is hurt or sad he really would prefer to cuddle me. However, with that being said, Zane adores his father. In Zane's world Daddy can fix anything, from our "broken" basement to a torn piece of paper. Whatever the problem, "daddy fix it mamma, not you, daddy." Zane loves being part of the fixing, getting his tools and helping "fic it" is one of his favorite activities. Most weekends Zane and Daddy go to "daddy's store" (a.k.a Lowes) for some sort of manly adventure, looking at tools, driving "cars" (aka lawn mowers), or buying everything they need for their jobs around the house. Sometimes he even comes home with something fun like his very own big boy tool belt, just like daddy's.

When Zane and I play it's all pretend house, pretend families, "I dad, you mom," then fun everyday scenerios ensue, like going to work, cooking dinner, or taking care of babies. We pretend to feed his animals, cook, clean ect. When Zane plays with Zach it is one hundred percent boy, with daddy usually being used as his jungle gym, punching bag, horse, car, or anything else you can climb or jump on. I think this gets old at times, but Daddy is always up for playtime/abuse. There is a lot of bad guys vs. good guys play with daddy, sword fights on pirate ships instead of the feeding pirates when we are playing. I love watching them together, seeing the imaginary adventures they go on, riding trains, flying, racing, rescuing, fighting fires, and fending off all sorts of animals and bad guys along the way. They are quite the pair and can't wait until Rowan can join in this boy fun.

I love how much Zane looks like his dad. Zane and Rowan are the only people that Zach knows who looks like him and I love watching him get to experience that. They are little versions of him for sure, with pieces of me as well. I couldn't ask for a better father for my children. Zach is patient and kind and shows them everyday how to be a good man, husband, and father. Both my boys will see their father being equally as active in parenting/decispline as in housekeeping and cooking. We are a team at our house, in every aspect, I love that about our family. So Happy Father's Day to Zane's favorite playmate. We love you so much Daddy!!! Thanks for everything you do for all of us! Hope you had a wonderful day with the boys, sorry I missed the fun.
