Little Rowan is starting to get big. As of yesterday' doctor appointment he weighed in at 10lbs 2oz. We were at the doctor again, this time to officially be diagnosed with acid reflux. So he now has a Zantac prescription and is back on his Nystatin for his thrush. The thrush continues to come and go so we will treat it a little longer. Hopefully the Zantac starts working soon because you can tell his little belly hurts after he eats. He cries, arches his back, and is quite miserable between 7pm - 11pm. Rowan's pooping issues continue, but seem to be getting a little better. I am hoping his GI system is starting to work it self out.
Other than his few small medical issues Rowan is doing great. He is eating well and other than few nights when he was up with a belly ache or trying to poop, he is also sleeping pretty well. I think his days and nights are straight, he is up most of the day, looking around with his little blue eyes. His little neck muscles are getting stronger so he can pull his head up and look at you when he is lying on your chest. However, he still has the adorable newborn bobble head. I'm dreading his baby hair falling out, there is no better feeling than a tiny newborn head, with super soft baby hair, snuggling on your neck. His eyes are getting bluer, but I still think his eyes and hair will be darker than his brother's. Other than that he continues to be Zane's little twin. It is frightening how much they look a like right now, but I'm sure as Rowan gets bigger he will grow into his own look. There will be no mistaking that these two are brothers. Zach and I are adjusting to how red and warm he is. Hopefully my hand thermometer adjusts soon, currently I think he feels like he has a fever. Zane was much paler and much cooler, turns out a fully functioning heart really pinks and warms you up!
Not the best shot of his little face, but great shot of his crazy hair after bath time. Adorable!
Sleeping on the couch as all the crazy takes place around him. Every time he lays on the couch, without moving, I relish in this moment when he isn't mobile. Once he becomes mobile things will start to get crazy.
As for me I continue to try to adjust to having two kids. It is challenging and is taking a bit of time to get my routine down. As anyone with more than one child knows, it's difficult always having your time, attention, and love split between two kids. I know that's how the rest of life will be, trying to balance it all, spreading out my time and attention between everyone. It's not that hard currently, since Rowan's days consist of eating and sleeping, but I know that soon they will both want all our attention. However, I can't imagine my life without Rowan. As everyone always says it feels like he has always been part of the family. I love watching his brother love him and can't wait to watch him grow into his own little person.
